Tradeskills
Aldmarrow has 10 tradeskills: gathering (mining, lumberjacking, picking herbs) and crafting (smelting, blacksmithing, carpentry, bowcrafting, jewelcrafting, alchemy, cooking, salvaging), plus the jeweler's Socketing. Each has its own page with how to level it, stations and where to find them, every recipe, and where its resources are. All 544 recipes are listed.
| Skill | Kind | What it does | Recipes | Stations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mining | Gathering | Mine ore veins and gem geodes with a pickaxe. Higher skill: harder ores, faster swings, more ore. | 0 | tool + node |
| Smelting | Crafting | Smelt ore into bars (and alloys) at a furnace. | 14 | Furnace |
| Blacksmithing | Crafting | Forge bars into weapons and armour at an anvil. Higher skill: better quality (Magic / Rare / Legendary). | 330 | Anvil |
| Lumberjacking | Gathering | Chop choppable trees with a hatchet. Higher skill: rarer woods, faster chops, more logs. | 0 | tool + node |
| Carpentry | Crafting | Saw logs into planks and build boats at a workbench: a Rowboat for the shallows, a Sloop for the open sea. | 8 | Workbench |
| Bowcrafting | Crafting | Fletch logs into bows at a workbench. Higher skill: better quality. | 32 | Workbench |
| Jewelcrafting | Crafting | Cut gems, make rings, amulets and wands at a jeweler's bench. Higher skill: better quality. | 114 | Jeweler's bench |
| Alchemy | Crafting | Pick herbs by hand and brew potions, elixirs and weapon oils at an alchemy table. | 33 | Alchemy table |
| Cooking | Crafting | Cook monster meat, herbs and spices into dishes at a stove or campfire. A dish gives a timed buff (one food buff at a time). Higher skill: Hearty and Gourmet dishes. | 13 | Stove / campfire |
| Salvaging | Crafting | Break gear and crafted tools down into materials at a salvage press. Things you crafted refund half their recipe; for dropped gear each material unit comes back by chance: about 1% at skill 0, 75% at 120. Trains fastest on high-tier gear and raises Intelligence, extremely slowly. | 0 | tool + node |
All tradeskills share one training curve. Each action (a swing, a smelt, a forge, a brew...) adds training points; when the bar reaches the cost of the next skill point, your skill goes up by 1. The cost of the next point at skill s is 1 × (1 + s / 12)1.7 points, so it is fast early and slower higher up. An action adds 1 + 0.35 × tier points while your skill is inside the recipe's (or node's) optimal range – from its required level up to 20 levels above it. Above that the gain shrinks and reaches zero (“trivial”) 25 levels later: nothing more is learned from that item, and the game tells you to try something harder. Each action also trains a core stat a little (see “Stat training” above). Skills are trained by use and have a soft cap of 250 (like every skill; they can reach 1000).
The production chain
- Mining → ore (copper/tin → coal → iron/silver → … → voidsteel).
- Smelting (furnace) → bars: bronze = copper + tin, steel = iron + coal, and so on.
- Blacksmithing (anvil) → weapons & armour from bars; Jewelcrafting (jeweler's bench) → rings, amulets, wands from bars + cut gems.
- Lumberjacking → logs → Bowcrafting (workbench) → bows; Carpentry → planks & boats.
- Alchemy and Cooking → potions, elixirs, oils, buffs.
- Salvaging turns spare gear into materials. (Enchanting was removed in v1.0.31.)
Where are the stations?
Every one of the seven towns has a full set of crafting stations (and you have your own set at Home on the Starting Island). Each skill page lists them with coordinates. See also Towns.
