Look north-east, past the road. The old keep there: Isselhold's other half, the one the dragon never wanted. A queen sits in it and the floor freezes under her. She has not come south. She has not needed to. One day she will want to. You have the look of someone who ought to ask her to wait.

She hides among her own reflections. Strike the real one and the others break. And when the whiteout comes, light the braziers: the cold cannot reach you beside a flame.
On completion
The Queen is dead? Then the wind has changed. I can feel it, in the old knee. Take this. Take all of it. And let the fire burn a little brighter on the wall tonight.
