Companions & Party
Companions, formations, stances.
Party
- Up to 3 companions plus 1 soul summon follow you. Swap them at any innkeeper or priest. Open the party panel with Y.
- Each companion has a formation (Close, Mid, Far) and a stance: Aggressive (attacks your target and nearby monsters), Defensive (the default: attacks whatever attacks you or a companion) or Passive (follows only). Healers heal in every stance.
- Change a companion's gear any time, anywhere - in a fight, in the field, in town, and for companions waiting on the roster too. Press Y, tap Menu > Party on a phone, or use the Party button on the bag panel, pick the companion and click a bag item to give it (click a worn slot to take it back). Only calling up and benching need a town.
- In the companion's Gear tab the bag strip uses the same green box as your own bag, but judged for THAT companion: their worn gear, their stats and the weapons they can use. A piece they could not wield well (a bow for a mage) never shows green and its tooltip says why. The roster list also notes how many pieces in your bag would be better for each companion.
- The Skills tab beside Gear shows the companion's level, class and attributes, every weapon and magic skill (with how much the wielded weapon's skill is worth), their spells with mana, cooldown and damage, their learned abilities and the perk they bring. Hover a spell for the full numbers. Companion spells cannot be dragged to your hotbar.
- Party buffs: the buff spells you cast (Ice Armor, Stoneskin, Haste, Regeneration and the rest) also cover your active companions for the same time.
- A priest resurrects a fallen companion for 5 gold x their level.
- Monsters never scale with party size; endgame content is tuned for a full party.
